Characteristic 3: Failure is an option

Failure is an important signal that can generate action in that it suggests a disconnect between one’s beliefs and reality it can drive exploration for solutions to disconnect (chuang and Baum, 2003 in Dean A. Shepherd, Trenton Williams , Marcus Wolfe and Holger Patzelt, page 118). Meanwhile, failure is nearly universally accepted as critical for growth and development, most organizations and individuals within organizations find learning for failure to be difficult (Cannon and Edmondson, 2005 in Dean A. Shepherd et al, page 118). Failure is an option, and sometimes it’s the only option. Failure is part of the entrepreneurial process. All the amazing new technology we have today might never have occurred if entrepreneurs hadn’t encountered failures along the way (Dr.Kathleen Allen, 2005).
Datuk Seri Hasmiza Othman or known as Dr.Vida is a founder for Vida Beauty popular with trademark ‘Qu Puteh Qu Puteh, Barulah Puteh’. Her name become popular after fully sponsor for AJL29 with huge amount which is RM3K. Even though, she face a lot of  critic because of the advertisement during that event but she didn’t care about it and just keep smile while the reporter interview her after that event (Arif Nizam Abdullah, 2015). To her, is not that really adventure because she already face a lot of difficulty to build her business until she can success at this level. She feel free to share her experience start with her father death. Actually, she from rich family but everything was change after her father died, her mother lost livelihood then she have to do something to help her mother and continue her further study at Universiti Sains Malaysia in Bachelor of Education (Malay Literature and History). From that, she try to do business start with sell ‘nasi lemak’ at her residential, she only get 30 sen profit but it doesn’t mean she was despair (Arif Nizam Abdullah, 2015). To show her struggle to survive she also do some business at her campus, like she sell hijab and cloth to the lecturer and staff admin at USM and during semester break she will going for part time job at fast food restaurant and factory just to gain some money for her life at campus. It show how struggle she is before success. After she graduate from USM she continue her career as a teacher at SJK (C) Poi Lam di Ipoh, but she still dream have their own business so that she try gain a capital by start with business at night market, sell food, she also make a loan just as starter to open her saloon (Zaidi Kamarun, 2013). Next, she try to create varies of beauty products for facial treatment. After she stop become a teacher, she apply for trainer at National Vocational Training Council, from that she train her student make cut hair treatment and facial treatment at night market for free until one day they get request for treatment, then she think about her own cosmetic product that they can use in the treatment (Bernama, 2016).
Thus, Dr.Vida try to commercial her product at radio and TV station, unfortunately she got big loss because of  her mistake in producing her product and didn’t get high impact from customer. After that case she got high blood pressure because she pressure about her advertisement are not success to attract customer to buy her product. So, now she learn from mistake, all the Tv station who want her to sponsor their event must follow her term and condition for advertisement. As we can see, all the program that Dr.Vida sponsor must be have her trademark, the theme must in pink colour (Arif Nizam Abdullah, 2015). She didn’t care whatever people want to talk about her because she know what she do, the most important is she do not want make same mistake like before. Now, Dr.Vida already sponsor Kafa which is football association for Kelantan with RM16K, AJL29 with RM3K and reality show Gegar Vaganzar, Mentor Melinia and many more. However, Dr.Vida got critic from a lot of people because of her style during her advertisement at AJL29 and the latest is when one of her product which is Qu Puteh Whitening Pro 9  was blocked at Brunei because the higher level of mercury in her product, Dr.Vida just keep calm when the reporter ask about this issues because Qu Puteh team always make a regular check their quality and safety for their customer (Arif Nizam Abdullah, 2015).
Now, Vida Beauty have many branch in Malaysia and also at Brunei and Singapore. One of  Dr.Vida hope is she can built up her business in cosmetic and health under Vida Beauty as a global business whether  in advertisement, marketing, online business or promotion. She said, ‘In terms of marketing, I learned a lot from failure. That's 'secret recipe' my business. I never felt it, failure, loss, what happens strength to succeed in this world and the hereafter. If I do not have strength, I will not be successful as it is today (Zaidi Kamarun, 2013).
From that, we can see how struggle Dr.Vida to face all the challenges in wold of entrepreneur. Even though, she have to face a lot of failure in her business but she never despair and keep hoping and put full effort to achieve her dream and success like today. Nowadays, all people know her product and herself by their own style in marketing her product (Arif Nizam Abdullah, 2015).

Characteristic 5: OPEN RISK TAKER

FIQA LIYANA CHONG
Currently, she is representing Malaysia for modelling and TVC talent. She’s started been involved in the entertainment industry since 2005 when she was just 15 years old.Furthermore, she was really fortunate to be acting in a few of Malaysian’s local movies and also the famous, Phua Chu Kang.
She’s a typical no hands barred adrenaline junkie extremists. She also enjoy the rush she endured when she do extreme sports. She’s constantly up for anything that is challenging and pushing her boundaries. If there’s one thing that she’s addicted at, that would be traveling. To balance her hectic lifestyle, she’s also a certified health freak. she eat healthy, exercise in between the free time that she have.
An individual or business that tends to behave in a way that can potentially cause physical harm or financial loss, but might also present an opportunity for a rewarding outcome. Most business types that thrive on innovation will encourage a risk taker mentality among management to help support the creative process in other staff members.
Bad shoes can be burden to the society especially women one day.Women will particularly think or find that heels can be a blister and annoying to their daily life, thankfully to the shoes in a suck quality. When Fiqa in her young days, her mother always told her that if we can protect our feet because we only have one pair of feet to be used for the rest of ourlife. This definitely good because we know how grateful it is to have such a fine feet and learn how to protect them. When we get older, the possibility for us to suffer from the painful limp will decreased if we invest in them right now before it is getting worse.
Moreover fine shoes definitely do not come over every single time we looking for the good shoes so we will tend to revisit Fiqa’s shoes because they definitely the best shoes ever publish and it is like a magic pair came from Fiqa Liyana Chong.she’s know all too well about this problem so that is why she’s pursuing in this kind of business from a TVC talent to an entrepreneur.Based on the Fiqa’s experience, she knows how discomfort and inconvenience can cause problem in daily life or maybe doing activities by her beloved stilettos so the idea came.Gratefully FIQS footwear have come reality from her imagination.
FIQS is a line of brand product from a very ordinary student and handmade also can be foldable footwear. The shoes came with a very bright colour and design to make it more interesting to the customer.Customer will think that it is stylish to wear them whenever they want to go out.In Vulcan post,Fiqa shared that FIQS,in terms of convenience and also practicality, easier to them. This days women always think as important think to them about their style so that is why they are wearing heels cause it’s look elegant and stylish. So that FIQS make shoes tahat can be wear as stylish thing.

Though her line in footwear business may be able to withstand all sorts of rocky difficulties, her path or way could not be far further than that because she’s also having to experience all sorts of difficulties.
“When she’s started FIQS, she was still in university and had no experience in running a business. She learned her mistakes during the difficulties and she did it anyway successfully. Now she never choose the way,she follow the step one by one, never skip it.She learned from her mistake when she did not performing a market validation when she had the idea.
In the earlier of the process for FIQS business, it was extremely tough to co-operate with people in foreign countries, but Fiqa has managed to overcome it and found it fun to design her footwear as well as go material shopping. The most exciting part of all was watching her creations come to life.
Since the inception of FIQS,they have expanded to Hong Kong because it is the perfect place where the footwear will be convenient for women who take public transportation often and lead a hectic life style .Likewise future plans for the brand would include more designs of FIQS,as well as plan for a physical store which will be announced sometime next year. The mission of FIQS is to ease women’s pain in wearing typical high heels. As such,Fiqa stressed that they will continue to only produce foldable flats and with such a niche, they will only be able to provide better quality footwear as time goes on.In her words, she says. We would like to concentrate what we do best to provide the most innovative foldable flats.
So,we can conclude that Fiqa Liyana Chong also take the risk when she’s started her own business(FIQS).
